Music Meme

OK, I am really liking the memes which Barbara is posting on her blog recently. And I had to do this one.....

Select the top 7 songs which you're really into right now. And then tag 7 friends who can then do it. If you wish to join in, then please do (I'm not going to tag anyone!)

So here are my seven counted down (in no particular order, mind), complete with a youtube link.

IN AT NUMBER 7
It's Beverley Knight and her funky choon 'Queen of Starting Over'. This is an live version. I have seen her perform live twice and she is simply an AMAZING vocalist. This has been playing in my head a lot recently.

IT'S A NON-MOVER AT 6
This track is the most-played on my ipod, so I must like it I guess! It's a bit sombre tho. It's 'I'd Wait for Life' by Take That.

FLOATING IN AT NUMBER 5
Madonna's 'Hung Up', using a rip from the Abba song 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme'. I like this a lot, and I also went to see the film 'Mamma Mia' last weekend with my Mum so I have lots of Abba tunes whizzing through my brain at the moment too.

FUNKY NUMBER 4
This is such a COOL dance track and everytime I listen to it, I have to dance and shake my booty! ;) It's 'Feels Like some Kinda Rush' by Booty Luv!

SO< DOWN TO OUR TOP THREE
Well, there's two fantastic songs by Tom Baxter (who else?!), the first one being 'The Moon and Me' which I listen to a lot.

And then there's 'Hot Wax to a Stone' - not on his albums, but on an EP and he often plays it live - and it's just wonderful...this particular recording is not amazing because it's recorded live in one of his concerts. I guess you need to be there to really appreciate it! :) I have the EP version on my ipod and I do listen to this a lot when I want to chill and be reflective.

FINALLY, THE NUMBER ONE IS....
These are in no particular order. However, this song 'She has No Time' by Keane is one of my favourite tracks of theirs.

So there, a mixture of uplifting dancey stuff, with a good dose introspective lyrics/chords ....

I just love your number 1 - it's one of my favourites too. Like Barbara, I'm a bit of a dinosaur so all I'll say is that I have catholic ( small "c"!) tastes in music and I yes, I like Tom Baxter as well (thanks to you!)

;-)) x
