Christmas, Boxing Day and looking forward to 2010

My blogging has been fairly inconsistent in 2009. It's been a very busy year, what with moving to a new place, starting a Masters, travelling to America to visit family a couple of times, and being inundated with seemingly endless Government/Regulatory inspections at my place of work (I work in the Public Sector).

I realise I will never be a very regular blogger (as often as I would like, perhaps) however I do hope to keep it up. I resolve to blog at least once a month!

Right now I am sat in my living room chilling out listening to my new digital DAB radio which a Special Someone kindly got for me :)

My folks came down for Christmas and we did all the usual things we do on Christmas Day....a nice, late breakfast; a walk; watching the Queen's Speech at 3pm, followed by Christmas dinner (a free-range, happy chicken as opposed to a hormone-injected turkey). In my head I felt compelled to name the chicken....settled on Chris, as it's Christmas....

In the evening we watched a bit of TV (Doctor Who), and then watched a DVD - No Country for Old Men. It's a very good, if slightly dark/gruesome action thriller starring Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin.

It was a good day.

So my slightly belated Christmas gift to all my blog readers (I guess not too many of you out there, but it's quality not quantity eh?!) is a Youtube video of Shirley Bassey singing a most amazing Tom Baxter song 'Almost There'. The visuals/sound maybe slightly out of sync unfortunately, but keep watching and when you reach about 3 mins 10 seconds you might even feel some shivers down your spine - this music is SOOOOO good!! Have a wonderful, happy, healthy New Year 2010.
