999, Emergency

A facebook friend of mine recently posted a link on their page to an audio transcript of a 999 call...The Guardian online published a feature last weekend on the role of the 999 emergency service in the UK.

Simply fascinating to learn more about how the service works, but moreover especially moving to listen to a few real-life dramas unfold. I became quite emotional listening to some of them. Particularly 'The Epileptic Fit', 'The Birth' and reading 'The Amputation'.

Have a read and listen. Also, by listening to the Heimlich Manoeuvre recording, you will hopefully know what to do now (if you don't already) if someone chokes and is unable to cough themselves back to normality.
