The London Marathon is taking place today. Good luck to all the runners who will pound the 26.2 miles around the streets of London. It's a hot day today so I guess many of them will be pushed to the limit.
Some interesting facts about the London Marathon:
- It was founded in 1981
On the day, it provides:
- 710,000 bottles of water
- 950 portable toilets
- 500 stretchers
- 20,900 metres of barriers
- 68 ambulances
I would like to do the London Marathon one day....but I need to feel confident enough to do this because at the moment I find 6 miles is enough of a challenge! Maybe in a couple of years....
